The Most SHITTY Company I Ever Seen

I interview with them on May 2008. They hold something called Open House. When I get there, I am totally regret. The company looks like shit, the office looks broken, and the working environment is horrible. I don't get job there, because I really dislike the environment, and what they do (eg. SPAM). They only pay the airplane ticket for me to get there, but I must pay the ticket by myself when I fly home. It is different what they said before I came to there. I sent E-Mail to recruiter, and never got any response back. I strongly suggest people don't interview with this company, because they are doing things wrong. Also don't believe what recruiters say, because those are bullshit. Working in the 7-11 will be better than woring in this shitty company.

Getting a interview invitation back to July 2008, I rejected it b/c they didn't want to pay my air/hotel up-front. After a phone call, I was convinced by the recruiter. Anyway, I didn't get the job b/c I didn't like the company and its interview process. However,****be aware***** SMS.ac didn't reimburse my expense (even at this moment Sept 2008) but send me a Promissory Note in a term of 1 year. What I can sure is......if you didn't get a job, you maybe not have your reimbursement back. Be selective, guys. Of course, I totally agreed the posts right here, it is just the truth about this "Bad Apple".

SMS.ac or FAN Box-- what the hell? nice people get a rough deal. the management can be summed up as deceiving, conniving, egotistical, money hungry idiots.

MP is the present day Hitler of the start up world

Their Values:

Winning- loser takes second place? Well MP- where are you? if you came second that would have been a good achievement- seriously? Broke and Bald huh?

OC- open communication means- nod your head like a zombie- when High School educated Brandie (Barbie) says something, lap it up like it were the words of widom. Disagree with the high school educated lot called management- and they you get fired!!

WTAWTAW- well good one!! just say YES, YES, YES to MP when he touches you!! that's his motto- try, try, try until the girls give in.

that my people is SMS.ac- if you are desperate for a job- dont go there!! go work at Starbucks- way better!!

peace!

I was driving in downtown SD on F Street the other day, and saw that the old SMS.ac/Fanbox building had a 'For Lease' sign on it. Anyone know if they are still in business ? Hopefully that gang of slimeballs finally collapsed under their own delusions, but more likely they have relocated to somewhere cheaper.

This company is notorious among ucsd computer science and computer engineering students. Their turnover rate is extremely high and they recruit ucsd students aggressively, so almost every student has either worked there, interviewed there, or knows someone who has. Ask around and the advice you're most likely to hear is, "don't work there". Two of my good friends worked there briefly, and they both have many negative things to say about it. One friend quit after just 2 or 3 weeks. According to him, management will sometimes cuss out an engineer, which sounds completely ridiculous and unprofessional to anyone who has worked at a real company. The company actually offers competitive salaries, which is probably why they continue to lure employees. However, when you factor in the amount of hours employees are expected to work, the pay is actually quite low.

Wow. I never knew such scum existed in this world existed until I worked for Michael Pousti. The whole operation just oozes with slime. Within a week of starting there in early 2005, I learned that Michael (MP) had banged about four chicks on the "management team." Brandy, the "VP of operations," was this trashy eating-disordered chick who did nothing but shop and drink coffee at her desk. And MP wanted us a ll to believe she was this amazing wunderkind. It was so strange. Most of the people who work there are not necessarily dumb, per se, but they definitely have low self-esteem.

Once I realized this place was a front-- I had a little fun before my resignation... I slept with another dude who worked there on MP's desk... And in both the bathrooms.

The only good part about this job is the location. San Diego is an amazing city and SMS.AC is right in downtown. Great especially after work.

The management is absolutely horrible. If you ever want to learn how not to treat employees, try working here for a little.
