The title of my review is justified by the following points:
* The worst technical management I have ever experienced - browbeats on every occasion and generally operates in a manipulative way that will put you at total unease. Your creative ideas might be implemented but without appreciation and you will always feel a sense of mistrust.
* Forget about life outside of work. The poor work-life balance is borne out of the fact that management does not know how to properly grow the business so there's constant last-minute pressure to deliver something, anything. Management is content to be where they have arrived and don't really care about any of their employees.
* No benefits whatsoever (No 401Ks, insurance, bonuses)
* Frequent pay DECREASES due to company's poor perfrmance

This place totally blows. They offer decent salaries but can never actually meet their payroll obligations, so it's kind of like Monopoly money.

If you want to know what ex employee really think, watch the news story that came out last year about this place:

Salary: $50,000

This job was my first and by far the worst. The business model of this company revolves around spamming people, helping others spam people (pyramid scheme) and hiring and firing as many people as possible. Don't let the wage, "bonus" or "stock options" entice you into waisting your time. You will never see the "bonus" and the stock options will never pay off. The people here are all either scamming you or getting scammed (delusional). The management gives no freedom and the career paths end early since there is a 99% chance you will be fired within 5 months (no exaggeration). I'm sorry to say that such a bad company exists in such a great place. Luckily there are plenty of great companies in San Diego so please pass this one by.

It is understandable that cash makes people independent. But how to act when somebody has no money? The one way only is to receive the mortgage loans and small business loan.

Do you know that this is the best time to get the credit loans, which will realize your dreams.

They wont hand-hold you there. It's tough, but fair. You will either step-up or step-out (management is blunt on that fact). I spent 3 months at fanbox as an intern and would like to go full-time next year after I graduate.

The positive posts are obvious fakes

I can 100% guarantee that this was written by their douchbag Recruiting Managers, Ken Smith and Josh Levy. I worked at this company and know for a fact that there were no "Project Manager interns." This company is scum.

I can speak to fanbox. Worked there for 2.5 years in sales/bd. First, if you are want a completely stable company, dont apply to a start-up -- any start-up. fanbox has been around a while, but they are not-funded. I work at Upper Deck now and its the most politcal company I have ever seen (just look at the reviews). We are doing layoffs here too, so I dont know if stablity is something you can currently find anywhere. You will work hard at fanbox, make no mistake. Its colorful and positive, but intense. its not for most but if you've have wanted to get into an aggresive start-up, I would reccomend it. You wont deal with politics, you will learn, and you will have fun.

You won't have to deal with getting paid either

This is the MOST political place you've ever seen! That's the hilarious thing about all their propaganda. Maybe all the people at the top doing all the politicking have been there so long that they don't remember how decent people are supposed to behave in the workplace.
